Another exciting and eventful season is coming to an end. This is a look back at ESEM’s European projects over the last ten months.

The facts: ESEM organised and managed over 40 European match and training camp projects in 13 different countries and 21 cities, where we worked with 19 teams from 12 nations – from European club sides (first team, Under-19s) to national teams (Men, Women, Under-21s).

As always, the season started in June with our summer training camps in Austria, where we organised and managed several projects, including a number of friendly matches.

This was followed by the early qualifying rounds for the Champions League and Europa League, with matches in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. We were delighted to assist teams from across the continent with their hotel and transport arrangements, even turning the car of one of our staff (a Fiat 500…) into a temporary team kit van.

The group stage of the European competitions presented us with many different and exciting projects, which included two unique weeks, when we handled four matches within three days. In September (Match Day 1) games at Liverpool, Chelsea, Everton and Rio Ave and in November (Match Day 5) matches at Manchester City, Arsenal, Celtic and Tottenham Hotspur. Other match projects took us to Portugal, Denmark, Spain, Luxembourg and Romania.

We worked closely with the clubs and their official travel agents to take care of all delegations. From the team, officials and VIPs, to sponsors, journalists and supporters, ESEM was responsible for all aspects of the stays, from booking the hotels and organisation of transportation to excursions, activities and restaurant arrangements.

ESEM’s football season doesn’t stop in the winter. In January and February we organised training camps and friendly matches across Spain for club sides and national teams from several European countries, followed by further Champions League, Europa League and Euro 2016 qualifying match projects in France, England, Spain, Lithuania and Italy. While the current season is coming to an end, our attention is now turning to our forthcoming summer training camps in Austria and England and we are preparing for the next European season, ensuring that we continue to offer our clients only the very best hotels and venues across the UK and the European continent.
